Deleting your account

Go to Profile > Settings > Delete account. Confirm it is you, with your password or with Apple or Google, and tap Delete my account. It works the same for athletes, scouts and organisations.

On our website’s account deletion page, enter the email address of the account. We email a link that works once and expires after 30 minutes. Nothing happens until you open it and confirm on that page. The page answers the same whether or not an account exists for that address.

The account closes at once: you cannot sign in, and you disappear from search, Athene and everyone’s results. Your profile, media and personal details are erased 7 days later, and never more than 30 days later. During those 7 days only our support team can stop it, for example if someone else took over your account and deleted it: write to support@scoutyx.com.

Messages you sent are replaced by "[deleted]" and shown as from "Deleted user"; the other person keeps their own messages. Some records are kept for a limited time, such as payment records the law requires, consent records and reports about the account. The deletion page lists each one and for how long.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription you bought through an app store. Cancel it in your account with the store you bought it from. A subscription bought on scoutyx.com stops renewing.

A parent or guardian can ask for a child’s account to be deleted on the deletion page, choosing the parent or guardian option, or by writing to support@scoutyx.com.
