Who sees your profile

An athlete profile is seen only inside the Scoutyx app, by people signed in to an account, and never on the public web.

Only people signed in to Scoutyx

An athlete profile is seen only inside the Scoutyx app, by people signed in to an account: scouts, organisations and other athletes. It is never shown on a public page of our website and never offered to search engines. A shared link to a profile opens our download page, so a link preview shows nothing of the profile, its data or its photos.

Season statistics on a profile are shown only to scouts, organisations and the athlete.

When a profile can be seen

A profile can be seen only while the account is active and the profile is public. It is hidden from everyone else while an account under 16 waits for a parent or guardian to consent, after a guardian withdraws consent, while an account is being deleted and while it is suspended.

A private profile is hidden from everyone but its owner: from search, from Athene, from feeds and stories, and scouts cannot message it.

We do not review profiles before they become visible. Our team reviews profiles and content that are reported.

What is never shown

Your email address is never shown on your profile, in search or in Athene. Profiles have no field for a phone number or a home address. What you write yourself, in a bio, a post or a message, is not checked for contact details, so keep them out of it.

Body and fitness figures

Figures about your body and fitness, such as height, weight, top speed or VO2 max, need your explicit consent, which an athlete account requires. Under 16, a parent or guardian gives it.

Anyone who can see your profile sees them, and scouts and organisations can search by them. Athletes under 18 appear in those searches only for scouts and organisations whose account is verified. These figures are never sent to OpenAI or to any other AI provider.

From 16, you can withdraw this consent in Profile > Settings > Privacy. Because the account needs it, withdrawing it closes the account, and it is deleted 30 days later.

Profile views

When a scout or an organisation opens your profile, you get a notification, at most once a day for each of them. It does not always say who: an organisation is never named.

Blocking

You can block someone from the report menu on their profile, on one of their posts or on a message they sent you. Blocking takes effect at once and works both ways: you no longer appear to each other in search, in Athene, in feeds or in stories, neither of you can contact the other, and any follows between you are removed. The person you block is not told.

The verified badge

Adult athletes and scouts can choose to verify their identity. The check is done by Stripe: you photograph an official document and take a selfie, which go straight to Stripe and are never received or stored by Scoutyx. Scoutyx keeps whether the check passed, a Stripe reference and how many attempts you used. When the check passes, the date of birth on the document replaces the one you typed, and it can no longer be changed. A verified athlete shows a badge on their profile. Nobody under 18 can verify.
